It has been nearly 8 months since I last blogged. That's kind of a little crazy for me to think of! Especially to just take a minute and think of how much has happened and changed since then. I guess I'll try to do a decent update on how things are going.
Life is seriously so great. I'm still at BYU-I just getting school done. It's my technically fourth semester but it should be my fifth and I have the credits for it, so I just say that it is. I have only about 3 or so semesters left and then I should be student teaching in about a year. It is beyond crazy. If you would have told me a year ago that this is where I would be in my life, I would have told you that you had no idea what you were talking about.
This semester has been very full of ups and downs but mostly ups. The beginning was a little shaky just because of a few things that were going on and I really didn't know what was going to happen. It was terrifying to think that my college experience could be totally taken away from me. Somehow I was given the opportunity to stay and I have been so blessed because of it. This fall has been different than any of my other semesters up here. I've had so many opportunities this semester that have been great. I
work night crew custodial with a crew that is like my second family.
Because of work, I was also able to play soccer which was so much fun. I have amazing friends and just feel so happy to be here. It really is an amazing school no matter how much I have tried to hate it in the past. It is mostly full of people who are all just striving to be the best they can and expect the same from you. That doesn't mean that it is always a walk in the park to be here and that there are not difficulties but all the same I am glad to be here. I feel like I have grown so much in the last few months especially in so many different ways. I am excited that I am going to be up here during the winter to continue with my schooling. I know this is where I am supposed to be for some reason or another! So might as well just love it!
Through everything that has happened this semester, I have had a lot of people that I have been close to for years tell me that I have completely changed. I have changed of course. Change is inevitable and is the only way to progress. However, I am still the same person. One of my best friends Meg said that I am just happier. And you know what, that is just the way it should be. I am just grateful for the life I have been given and am determined to make it the best I can.
happiness is a mood, not a destination

week one down
well i made it through a week of school! school itself was cake. not a single problem. except i really do have problems with having religion being a graded class. it just doesn't make sense to me. i'm actually writing this instead of working on my d&c homework just because it is so boring to me!
i forgot a few things about byui.. this school is hard for me to be at! i feel so out of place. people keep telling me that some kids just don't understand me here. and i am not even that weird or crazy or whatever. i can't imagine how it would be for some of the other kids that i see going here.
here's a few things that happened this week.
last night we went to a graffiti dance party. totally thought it was going to be spray paint of something like that. no. it was people writing on each other with markers haha. kind of lame but hey still a dance so i loved it. it's so weird here cause people are constantly complaining about the fact there is nothing to do but then when there is something to do, the complain about how that would suck. i just don't get it haha. i was so mad last night because i left a lot of things in Utah to come to this school and i don't want to waste a single moment. kids only get to experience college once. we are having opportunities that we will never get again. we need to take advantage of every single moment we get. just a side note, people at dances here are hilarious. everyone is just grinding and thinking they are being so bad. nobody cares.. haha i was laughing so hard.
i've had to break into my apartment twice already. my key doesn't work and my roommates go to bed way early but hey it's a nice skill to have i guess!
i've already gotten to see a few of my IF friends and i missed them so much! it was so good to get to see everyone.
also i've started looking at schools to transfer to. it's crazy to me because i had such a good feeling about this semester but i've only been here a week and i'm not really feeling it so i'm going to kind of take a look at my options. nothing is official of course, just simply keeping it in the back of my mind.

a picture is worth a thousand words
I suck at keeping up on my blog this year so far I really do. Here's a bit of an update. I have nineteen days left till I go back to school. I am FREAKING out. Not because I am crazy excited, just because it is getting hard to think of leaving where I'm at and going back to Rexburg of all places.. I need to make a list of things to do before I leave. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know by all means. I need to make these last few days rock.
I need to find everything for my room before I leave too. If anyone has some secret source where I can buy a non creepy medium sized Buddha, some dream catchers, and just random cool junk, that'd be very helpful!
Since I kind of don't have much to talk about, here are some pictures that I have found and fallen in love with and now am sharing them to you!

lists
i suck at blogging this year. i haven't really figured out why. maybe my life is just boring enough that i feel like i don't want to share it with the world. who knows. this is going to be a lists post cause that's easy haha.
list #1 - obsessions
1. tumblr. i am so obsessed. i swear i spend hours and hours on so many random blogs just full of pictures of amazing things. it is so interesting to me even though i know it is basically a waste of time.
2. metric. she's amazing.
3. wild belle and the fact that they have an album coming out next month. i cannot wait.
4. dreamcatchers. i want to fill a wall with them.
5. summer. i love winter, like absolutely love it. i think snow is magical and that it makes everything more beautiful. however i am done with the cold! i just want everything to be green and warm and i just want to go swimming and get tan.
6. imagine dragons. also amazing and i listen to them pretty much every day.
7. sweets/food in general. i don't know what it is about this month but i have been crazy hungry all the time.
8. spring egg rolls at panda express.
9. now is good and perks of being a wallflower.
10. the word wanderlust and it's definition.
11. zombies. this is fueled by walking dead but i just really like them.
12. baby monkeys.
13. camping. it's all i think about i feel like. i just wanna go so bad.
14. whatever this style of art is called.
i think is is weird and beautiful and interesting.
list #2 - i miss st george
1. warmth. i don't feel like i really need to explain this.
2. red. it's weird how much i miss the red rocks everywhere.
3. the ability to drive for about 15 minutes and you were in the middle of nowhere. northern utah is city after city all blended into one mass that is very hard to escape.
4. thrift stores. i miss going and finding dollar sweatshirts. along these same lines i miss my platos knockoffs. coyote exchange was going to order some tiny earrings for cartilage piercings (these are harder to find than you would think).
5. my friends. and family.
6. adventures. st. george is probably one of the best places to have adventures because everything is just so different than anywhere else.
7. the swimming hole/grandpa's fishing pond. it's the perfect place to run, swim, and just hang out.
8. trail running. the closest i can get here is a paved path next to a smelly river where i get passed by much more serious runners and bikers. not even close to the same. it doesn't make you feel alive in the same way.
9. my old job. yes it sucked but i miss being around people and getting to talk to them face to face.
10. sunsets.
11. palm trees. i cannot believe i miss these dang things cause they are not even trees but i do really miss them. i saw a palm tree statue in salt lake a little while ago and it made me laugh.
12. st george guys. i say this very halfheartedly. yes they were still utah boys but at least they were more manly than most of the guys up here. i miss my idaho men.
13. people. not all of them but i do miss the interesting ones. i feel like st george attracts some very interesting people. i cannot stand boring people.
14. polygamists. i don't miss them really, it's just odd not seeing them all the time.
15. places to take pictures. this kind of goes with number 3. but i mean i could go wander the "alleys" and not be scared even a bit. here, not so much..
16. the D. every town in utah seems to have this need to put a giant letter on the mountainside but nobody does it quite like st george does.
17. truberry. this place that made the most delicious acai bowls. all fruit with organic granola and coconut and honey on top. the tru red was my favorite.
18. that one greek restaurant. i forget the name of it. their falafel gyros were to die for.
19. being close to vegas. this is a two part one. half always really being concerned to touch money especially dollar bills because you never know where that paper had been that week. half the people that would come and visit. there are some nutters.
20. pioneer park.
21. lack of homeless people and being able to go to parks and such with zero fears.
22. urban revival. this is my most favorite store in the entire world.
23. the tomato spinach tortellini soup from pasta factory. their breadsticks too. i have to learn how to make this.
24. dances. it seems like there was always one to go to which i loved.
25. living somewhere that people envied. that was fun.

so... i moved.
i feel like i should blog about the fact that i moved. i don't know why but i think it's probably because i think it was crazy so other people probably think it is even more crazy. it was a very spur of the moment decision. one moment, i was basically content and the other i was packing up to move. here's kind of my thought process. i was working a part time job when i am not going to school which makes no sense. i had so much time that i was just wasting. that was my main reason. plus i am young and not tied to anything! so why not? hopefully it works out how i am hoping. i just need to find a job asap. i am also very excited to be around all my amazing friends. don't get me wrong though, i love my st george friends and am very grateful for them. change is just very needed sometimes and i felt like this was my next best step.
i have a new obsession with movies where the main character is dying. i know this is weird but they leave you with such a good mindset. they make you want to just live life as much as you possibly can. to not let a single moment pass you buy, to experience everything. tonight i watched one week. i would suggest it to everyone. i just want to share the last little bit of the movie.
"When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive. So the question becomes, or should have been all a long... What would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What life boat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfil? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?"

where i wish i was tonight
here. this is where i want to be tonight. middle of nowhere. i want to just smash my phone and my laptop and take a beat. i really hope that i am not the only one who gets this way, but sometimes i just get sick of society and the way i am interacting with it. i get so caught up in things that don't matter. my life is just a lil bit of crazy at all times but the sad part is that i am so used to it. every so often it hits me hard all of everything around me and how it doesn't even phase me anymore. i just want to go away for a little while and get away from it all. don't get me wrong, i do love my life. i just firmly believe that everyone needs to take some time to breath and recollect themselves or they unknowingly let themselves get swept up in the chaos that is always around each and every one of us. we forget us and lose our focus. that's where i feel like i am. so tonight, i would give anything to just be away.

the world is ending!
i feel like i should write an end of the world post. do i believe that the world is going to end? no not really. but hey might as well enjoy the hype! i'm actually watching a countdown. it's slightly unnerving. i've actually been really nervous for this whole deal for the last year or so because of crazy people. i have had this theory that the crazies in the world were going to try their hardest to leave their mark. i don't know if the recent shootings in Oregon, Connecticut, Vegas, San Antonio, and all the other ones that i haven't heard about have anything to do with the world ending, but it is scary to think about. it makes me wish that i was in IF safe in my home with my dad's guns haha. i am a little too close to Vegas for comfort. but like i said, i fully believe everything is going to be good.
let's see. let's do a small update. i have been a vegetarian for almost a month now. and i really am loving it! people have really funny reactions though. it's either they really could care less or they are really opposed. i am all for it! remember my post complaining about how i get sick after eating sometimes? hasn't happened once since i stopped eating meat. i feel like i have a lot more energy too.
i am completely obsessed with the following at the moment:

- ellie goulding - she's amazing
- wild belle - they are amazing and so different
- blogs - i love to see everyone's personality through pictures, quotes, and posts. there are some absolutely mind blowingly creative people in this world
